BY ALL MEANS

God gives many creative ideas to His servants in order to reach out to the lost.  This is true of the ministry of Eddie and Patti White, AGWM personnel in Macedonia.  Several years ago, God put a burden on Eddie's heart to reach men 50 years of age and older who have lived most of their lives under Communism.  These men who would come to church, and sit on the back row looked older and wiser, but they were really new believers with only a basic understanding of Christianity.

Over the past couple of months, there have been four meetings for this group of men with discussion about such things as being leaders in their homes.  They are learning and growing.  Even hobbies such as fishing and hunting have become a connection point for Eddie, a common ground.

Another aspect of this ministry is a meeting place located near the church where these men can relax, talk with each other, drink coffee, and enjoy an outdoor patio in the warmer weather.

In one of the meetings, the men asked why the ministry had been created.  Eddie told them that it was God's idea.  These men are genuinely excited that God thinks they're important, and that he is interested in their lives.

Patti recently was given the opportunity to teach English to five Macedonian Orthodox nurses, and so they have met twice a week.  While the women in the class are grateful to learn English, Patti has felt grateful for forming friendships with these women and learning more about their lives, as they discuss religion and other topics.

God has also provided many opportunities to reach out to Macedonians who are not involved with the church.  One idea God recently gave was that of a Macedonian cookbook that would include scriptures and testimonies along with favorite recipes.  As Women's Day is an important holiday in Macedonia, it was the perfect time to pass out such a cookbook to women all over the country.  Ladies from the evangelical churches across the country contributed 216 recipes which were compiled along with more than 130 scriptures and testimonies.  During the weekend of that holiday, the vast majority of the 500 cookbooks were passed out to women at events around the country.  People's faces lit up when they received a copy and many have inquired about a possible second printing.
